Computational Sensor for Visual Tracking with Attention
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper presents a VLSI embodiment of an optical tracking computational sensor which focuses attention on a salient target in its field of view. Using both low-latency massive parallel processing and top-down sensory adaptation, the sensor suppresses interference from features irrelevant for the task at hand, and tracks a target of interest at speeds of up to 7000 pixels/s. The sensor locks onto the target to continuously provide control for the execution of a perceptually guided activity. The sensor prototype, a 24 24 array of cells, is built in 2m CMOS technology. Each cell occupies 62 m 62 m of silicon, and contains a photodetector and processing electronics.

Sensory Attention : Computational Sensor Paradigm for Low – Latency Adaptive Vision
1 The need for robust self–contained and low-latency vision systems is growing: high speed visual servo-ing and vision–based human computer interface. Conventional vision systems can hardly meet this need because 1) the latency is incurred in a data transfer and computational bottlenecks, and 2) there is no top–down feedback to adapt sensor performance for improved robustness. In this paper we ...
متن کاملApplication of eye tracking technology for screening and rehabilitation of children with special needs.
Eye tracking is a technology for measuring eye movements when looking at a point. The length of time to look at a particular situation, the sequence of observations, as well as points of attention are processed in the process of eye tracking and eye movements are identified by topics such as fixation, saccade, etc. Information about how the eyes move at a special moment has many potential appli...
متن کاملAcoustic Sensor-Based Multiple Object Tracking with Visual Information Association
Object tracking by an acoustic sensor based on particle filtering is extended for the tracking of multiple objects. In order to overcome the inherent limitation of the acoustic sensor for the simultaneous multiple object tracking, support from the visual sensor is considered. Cooperation from the visual sensor, however, is better to be minimized, as the visual sensor’s operation requires much h...

Visual attention to the Logos of Popular and Unknown Brands: An Eye-tracking Study during Decision-making
A logo epitomizes a brand and depicts the picture of a product; consequently, attention, as an initial step of the AIDA model, to the logo is a good-looking index to survey the cognitive processing during consumers’ decision-making. Eye tracker extracts the visual attention data. For these reasons and appreciated from fixation duration, in the present study, the process of visual attention to t...
